The Hidden Stages of Durian dieback fungi
The emerging disease caused by Fusarium solani and Fusarium incarnatum impacts durian production. Both of these fungi cause root and stem rot, which stunts the tree’s growth or in the worst cases, can kill the tree entirely. The outbreak usually spreads through contaminated farm tools or environmental conditions that allow the fungi to grow rapidly. That’s why it’s so critical for us to research and develop new technologies to keep this under control. Antifungal agents and proper crop management are essential for mitigating the risks and impacts of the disease. Most importantly, keep a close eye on the orchard, then you can stay ahead of the disease.
