Hi-Tech Broiler Farm
Industrial broiler farming involves multiple and continuous procedures from laying the husk, sterilizing, releasing chicks, overturning the husk, to collecting and packing the mix of husk and chicken manure. Every procedure requires fast implementation to prevent the chance of income loss. A research team from the Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaeng Saen, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus has developed tools and an automatic system combining IoT technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to save labor, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. The indispensable tools are the husk conveyor system, husk grader, husk overturning equipment, husk collecting tractor, and husk packing machine. An AI-facilitated chicken health examination system was also developed to analyze data from sensors and photos, incorporating the Deep Learning technology. The research team has integrated mechanical engineering, computer engineering, and farming. The research promotes the ability to reduce the workforce, increase the quality of chicken meat, and create big data for future farm management. The innovation not only elevates broiler farms across the country but also furthers into the international market, which can enhance marketing opportunities and competitiveness of the broiler industry in Thailand.
