Portable Moisture Meter for Rubberwood

For industrial processing of rubberwood, moisture content is a considerable factor influencing the quality and durability of the product. Precise moisture control is important, especially in sawmill production. Thus, a tool to measure moisture content fast, precisely, and conveniently in challenging settings is necessary. In response, the Faculty of Engineering at Kamphaengsaen, Kasetsart University, Kamphaengsaen Campus has invented a portable moisture meter for rubberwood incorporating Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR), a technique the internal composition of materials without damaging the sample Combining the technique with a smartphone and an Android application, the output is precisely processed and displayed. The meter features a small size, portability, an inexpensive price, and practicality for sawmill usage and other agricultural production measurements. For further information, please contact Assoc.
