Soft Pastels from Fish Glue
These days, several soft pastels with hazardous chemicals are still on sale. Repeated exposure to the substances leads to long-term accumulation of toxins in the bodies of users, especially kids. In response, the Faculty of Fisheries from Kasetsart University developed safe soft pastels using organic pigments from leaves, oyster shells, and fish glue. By processing and molding industrial waste materials as well as adding glinting enhancement, the innovation elevates pastel production for kids and users who prioritize safety and sustainability.
