Pakchong KU 46 Banana

The Pakchong Research Station has developed a new hybrid cultivar of Namwa bananas. The plants exhibit a height of approximately 3-4 meters and a stem circumference of 80-100 centimeters. The yield is moderate, with a bunch weight of around 20-30 kilograms and 8-10 hands per bunch. The fruits are short, somewhat round, and uniformly large. When ripe, the flesh is yellowish-orange, firm, sticky, and soft, with a  sweet and slightly sour. Fully ripe fruits become very sweet. This cultivar is highly nutritious, containing high levels of beta-carotene and vitamin C that respond to the market and consumer demand for fresh, healthy bananas.
