Crab Bank Learning Center, From Conservation To Sustainability

Blue swimming crab or Blue crabs are important economical aquatic animal resources with high demand from consumers. This brings the increment in the fishery. Both local coaster fishermen and large commercial fishing vessels use efficient fishing tools in catching blue crabs which also catch great amounts of small blue crabs for benefits. Combined with catching the blue crabs with a lot of near-hatching roes outside their aprons, these cause the populations of blue crabs unable to grow up and be fungible in time. Siracha Fisheries Research Station collaborates with Bang Sare Fishery Community in promoting the blue crab bank project to revitalize aquatic resources and build sustainability in the Thai sea.
