Electric grape seaweed cleaning machine

Fresh grape seaweed or so-called sea grape is a healthy food. It has high nutritional value and is also rich in many minerals and vitamins, including fatty acids. It is important to have the seaweed cleaned properly by removing mud stains as well as germs and other living things attached to the algae. The current cleaning procedure (using the skimmer method) causes the algae to bruise and the damage affects the storage. Therefore, Associate Professor Pitiya Kamonlpatana, Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University, has studied and developed an electric grape seaweed cleaning machine to reduce time and potential force in cleaning process on the algae. This machine can clean the seaweed in 3 minutes. It reduces the damage of the algae cells and transpiration. This machine can clean more than 12 kilograms of the algae per hour.
