The fruit yield from growing strawberry plants can provide a good income to farmers.

Phetchabun Research Station has grown the Prarachatan 80 variety of strawberry because this variety is popular for farmers and consumers in Thailand. There are several methods for growing strawberry plants, but the most popular method is to grow the young strawberry plants from strawberry runners from the mother plants. This planting method will provide new plants as the original variety. The new plants will be strong and healthy and will take 4 months to provide fruit yield. Strawberry plants will be easily affected by fungal diseases and insects. Besides being sold as fresh fruits, strawberry fruits can be processed as jam to sell too.
